Welcome to Alika Tia Cotons!   "Alika Tia" means "Dog Love" in Malagasy, the native language of Madagascar. 

We are a small Canadian breeder committed to the health and well-being of this rare breed of dogs for present and future generations.  We are a code of ethics breeder and breed only from sound, healthy dogs.

Through careful selection and matching of our puppies with their new families, we are creating an "Alika Tia Family".  We want to develop a friendship with our puppy-parents.  As an owner of one of our puppies, you are guaranteed to have our continuing support throughout the life of your dog and hopefully beyond too! 

Alika Tia is a Registered Kennel with the CKC.

Conformation

Our dogs are shown in the conformation rings of the Canadian Kennel Club, Rare Breed Club of South Western Ontario, Canine Federation of Canada, United Kennel Club, and All Breed International Dog Shows.  You will see their awards and titles on the upcoming pages of "Our Boys" and "Our Girls".

Dogs Being Dogs

All of our dogs are first and foremost beloved family pets.  They run, romp, and play both indoors and out.  They live where we live - all over the house, on the couch, and in the yard.  They are kennel trained and sleep in their kennel at night or for safety while we are away.  They travel in the RV with us and go visiting in public where ever we can take them.

Health and Temperament

We test our dogs for health before breeding.  This includes at a minimum CERF eye exams, patella, hips, elbows, and NCA.
